The generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) which is characterized by a permanent state of anxiety. People who have this disorder feel afraid of something but are unable to express specifically what they fear. Because of muscle tension and hyperactivity of the autonomic nervous system, anxiety can develop headaches, palpitations, dizziness and insomnia. These symptoms, combined with the psychological aspects associated with anxiety, cause difficulties in dealing with normal daily activities.
