Drug
treatments are generally used for major depression. Major depression affects
25% of men and 45% of women. [1],[2]
However, the cause of depression remains unknown and treatments are limited to
symptoms. Depression quickly becomes chronic, a trait that will accompany the
person throughout the entire lifetime. Over 80% of people treated
pharmacologically show a substantial continuity of depression.
